Control Stations

Safety switches ensure that machines and installations are disconnected from the energy supply during maintenance and repair work. Isolator switches, circuit breakers and "break glass" call points are designed to prevent operation in explosive atmospheres during connect and disconnect operation of power loads.

Appleton™ flameproof ATX™ D Series

D Series aluminium control stations provide safe control of equipment in classified hazardous locations. They are available with 1, 2 or 3 functions, including options for a variety of push buttons, time delayed push buttons, pilot lights, ammeters and limit switches. Ideal for the control of electrical equipment at power plants, chemical and petrochemical plants, petroleum refineries, pulp and paper processing plants and various industrial applications.

Appleton™ Increased Safety Unicode™ 2 Series - Stainless Steel

Stainless steel control stations and switches are ideal for use in hazardous locations and washdown areas. A variety of push buttons and selector switches are available for use in conjunction with contactors or magnetic starters for remote control of motors. They provide circuit control and/or selection. Pilot lights are available to provide visual assurance that an electrical function is being performed at a remote or local location.

Appleton™ flameproof ATX™ SWD Series

SWD Series 20, 32, 63, 100, 125, 160 and 250 Amp isolator switches, circuit breakers and "break glass" call points are designed to prevent operation in explosive atmospheres during connect and disconnect operation of power loads. They are ideal for use in hazardous areas where ignitable vapours, gases or highly combustible dusts are present.

Appleton™ flameproof ATX™ MS Series

MS Series Motor starters are available in either Ex d or Ex de enclosures for safe starting and stopping of full voltage AC motors in hazardous areas. Standard models include a magnetic circuit breaker, contactor with overload relay, Start/Stop buttons and a pilot light. Available options include a Hand/Off/Auto selector switch, emergency stop, fault trip signal, ammeter, anti-condensation and indirect entries.

Appleton™ Increased Safety Unicode™ 2 Series - Polyamide

Polyamide control stations and switches are ideal for use in hazardous locations and washdown areas. A variety of push buttons and selector switches are available for use in conjunction with contactors or magnetic starters for remote control of motors. They provide circuit control and/or selection. Pilot lights are available to provide visual assurance that an electrical function is being performed at a remote or local location.

Appleton™ increased safety ATX™ SWE Series

SWE Series 16 and 20 Amp switches, circuit breakers, and "break glass" call points are designed to prevent operation in explosive atmospheres during connect and disconnect operation of lighting and light power loads. They are ideal for use in hazardous areas where ignitable vapours, gases or highly combustible dusts are present.

Distribution Boards

The AP Haslam Workshop can create bespoke Distribution boards for Atex environments to suit your needs, dividing power feed into subsidiary circuits, while providing a protective fuse or circuit breaker for each circuit in a common enclosure. Here are some examples built to customer specifications.

Aluminium Alloy Enclosure-Ex d Dual DOL

Using an Aluminium alloy enclosure (632(h) x 432(w) x 271(d) mm) EJB-5B Exd Enclosure ATEX certified IIB T4/T6 (H2 Available on request), Dual 3 Phase 25amp 400V, 50Hz, N, PE Direct On Line Start Panel c/w 24v AC controls

Wi-Fi Alloy Enclosure

Our client was installing Wi-Fi access points and required Atex enclosures for them.
The access points had to have remote antennae so the enclosures required 3 no cable gland entries (1x cat 6 cable & 2x antenna cables)
The access point dimensions (without mounting bracket):
(W x L x H)
8.7 x 8.7 x 1.84 in.
22.1 x 22.1 x 4.7 cm
Weight 1.9 lbs. (0.86 kg)
Our customer also required space inside the enclosure for a RJ 45 outlet.

Switch Disconnects

Safety switches ensure that the machines and installations are disconnected from the energy supply during maintenance and repair work. The safety switches can be used with both conventional drives and drives controlled by frequency converters. They are ideal for use in Hazardous areas where ignitable vapours , gases or combustible dusts are present.
